is on the mend after having a blood clot in March, but she’s not quite back to her old routine yet.

The model, who launched her skincare line Rhode, spoke with this week about the health check, which she called in a… the “scariest moment” of her life. During breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber, the 25-year-old suffered a transient ischemic attack, which is sometimes referred to as a mini-stroke. In her video, she shared that the situation was caused by a “perfect storm” of factors, including having a then-unknown small opening in her heart known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). To resolve the issue, Bieber underwent a PFO shutdown, which she said went “smoothly.”

She told Byrdie, “My body is taking a little longer to heal than they thought. After they have the heart procedure, I’m always the one in a rush to get back to work, but this has taught me that it’s physically sometimes not possible.”

The former ballet dancer added: “I love fitness, so the last few months have been a bit difficult for me because it’s such an important part of my routine and day.”

While Bieber may struggle with the physical aspects of her recovery, she’s talked about the health anxiety before † On Wednesday, Bieber told: Live with Kelly and Ryan†[Justin] looked after really well – he slept with me in the hospital as I went through my situation, he was really there for me,” she shared. “I honestly think the silver lining in the whole situation, what I went through, what he went through through, it really bond with you. I feel like we’re closer than ever… I’m taking that away from everything.”

Justin is also managing health issues as he has recently postponed his upcoming concerts due to: a condition that affects the facial nerves and causes paralysis.

“He’s doing well, he’s getting better and better every day,” Bieber explained of the condition. “He’s going to be all right. This is just a weird situation out of the blue. It takes time to heal.”
