The Social Security Administration announced the 2023 Cost of Living (COLA) adjustment for Social Security benefits, for programs such as: Supplemental income security and social security disability insurance. Other government retirement and benefit programs will also be affected by: the increase of 8.7%.

The COLA offered for next year is historical in size after inflation ravaged the markets for basic goods consumed by most households, including: food, shelter, utilities and gasoline.
